Plantamigos launches deck of cards for new plant parents

With more Australians making friends with houseplants during lockdown, local Melbourne brand Plantamigos has launched a beautiful deck of plant care cards for budding plant mums (and dads).

The Plant Parents Guide features a deck of 30 illustrated cards and care advice for a variety of popular and rare houseplants.

Each deck comes with tips on lighting, watering, humidity, holidays plus a handy list of pet friendly & air purifying plants. What’s more, it’s all done with a bit of fun and sass. Fiddle Leaf Figs may love bright indirect light but also love ‘playing with your heart’. The Prayer Plant? Probably praying you don’t kill it…

“Friends don’t let friends kill plants,
that’s kind of our motto.”

Created in Melbourne during lockdown by Australian Colombian designer Paula Cardona and writer Phon Vongdara, the cards are a testament to the city’s growing love of indoor plants. Plantamigos started with helping out mates become more confident with plants, they say, “because friends don’t let friends kill plants. That’s kind of our motto” Now, they hope to turn a new generation of plant lovers and serial black thumbs into proud plant parents.

about plantamigos
Started in Melbourne by two friends living their best #plantlife, Plantamigos is about spreading our love of all things green. Designer Paula Cardona hails from Colombia which explains her undying devotion to tropical plants (she once owned over 82 plants). Crazy plant lady? She prefers ‘passionate’. Our wordsmith Phon Vongdara has a big plant family of his own, along with an unhealthy obsession with calatheas because he’s a sucker for punishment.
